ANGIE PEARSON

Soul Carer

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ANGIE:

From a young age, I have felt a profound calling to help others, especially the elderly and those nearing the end of their lives. This deep-seated desire to care for people has been the guiding force throughout my life. My journey into the realm of Counselling and care began in earnest in 2020 when I completed an Advanced Certificate in Counselling and Communication skills from SACAP.

In 2022, seeking to expand my knowledge and support network, I embarked on a transformative course with Dr. Mary Ryan to join the Soul Carers Network. However, life had its own plans, and in the midst of my training, I faced a devastating personal loss with the passing of my partner. Despite this profound grief, I found the strength to continue and ultimately completed the course in 2024.

Throughout my experiences, I have come to believe that life is a continuous process of learning. Each interaction, whether internal or external, offers a lesson, and I am convinced that we can all learn from one another. This belief propels me forward, and I am currently preparing to enhance my skill set with a course in mindfulness, aiming to deepen my understanding and capacity to support others.

As a proud South African, I hold dear the philosophy of Ubuntu, which emphasizes compassion, inclusivity, and the collective well-being of all. I am a firm believer that the compassion we receive from others plays a crucial role in shaping who we become. My goal is to embody these principles in my work, ensuring that everyone receives the care and compassion they deserve, especially during their most vulnerable moments.

In every step of my journey, I strive to provide care and support with unwavering empathy. My life’s mission is to be a source of comfort and understanding, particularly for those in their final days. This is not just a profession for me; it is my calling, my passion, and the legacy I hope to leave behind.
